Internationally Recognized Soprano in Recital
Soprano Jennifer Zetlan is internationally recognized for her artistry and captivating stage presence. She has sung leading opera roles worldwide, including the Metropolitan Opera, New York City Opera, Seattle Opera, Ash Lawn Opera, New York Philharmonic, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Staatstheater Stuttgart, and Carnegie Hall, as well as recital venues and on Broadway. She has performed in the world premieres of operas by composers Matthew Aucoin, Daron Hagen, Nico Muhly, and Ricky Ian Gordon (a judge in Savannahs 2018 American Traditions Vocal Competition). With Mr. Gordon as composer and pianist, she is currently recording a CD of songs and arias.
For this recital, Ms. Zetlan will be joined by pianist David Shimoni, BA, MA, DMA. Mr. Shimoni has appeared in recital in New York’s Zankel Hall, Weill Recital Hall, Alice Tully Hall, and Museum of Modern Art. He also has been featured at the Barns at Wolf Trap, the Chicago Cultural Center, the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts, and the Dallas Museum of Art. In addition, he is sought after for his skills as a collaborator, and has worked with the Jupiter String Quartet, New York Festival of Song, Southeastern Festival of Song, and Toronto Dance Theatre. He frequently accompanies singers under such auspices as the Marilyn Horne Foundation, Concert Artists Guild, and the Juilliard School’s Alice Tully Hall Vocal Debut Recital.
